Michael Candelario is a young grower from Puntagorda, in the north-west of La Palma, within the D.O. La Palma. He is the fourth generation of a farming family that for years sold its grapes to other wineries on the island, until in 2023 he decided to make his own wine. That first year a wildfire burned several of the plots he was counting on, and he had to buy in grapes to save the vintage. It is a small family winery, run with the help of relatives and friends. He makes two wines that aim to reflect La Palma's volcanic soil: Candelario Blanco, from Listán Blanco, Albillo Criollo and Vijariego Blanco, and Candelario Tinto, from Negramoll, Listán Prieto and Listán Negro.
