Bodegas Muro

About the winery

Bodegas Muro belongs to a family from Lapuebla de Labarca, in Rioja Alavesa, tied to the vine for generations and already bottling part of its harvest in the late 19th century. Until 2020 it was called Bodegas Miguel Ángel Muro. The current generation renewed the vineyard and the winery, and was among the first in the village to use stainless steel tanks. Their own vines, in Lapuebla and Laguardia, face south at between 450 and 570 metres and are mainly Tempranillo, with some Graciano, Maturana, Viura and Garnacha. They harvest by hand and make everything from young carbonic maceration wines to crianzas, reservas and single-plot wines such as Amenital or Majada de Reyes. They also run the Pichón Etxea rural guesthouse, whose guests can visit the winery and taste its wines.
