Bodegas Palenzuela García

◍ Granada

About the winery

Bodegas Palenzuela García is a winery in the north of the province of Granada, in the Guadix district, with one particular feature: its facilities are dug underground, in a cave in Cortes y Graena, in the depression known as the Hoya de Guadix. The surrounding clay keeps the temperature steady, at around 20 degrees all year round, so the wine is spared the swings between summer and winter of this continental climate. Its vines grow in mineral-rich clay soils at more than a thousand metres above sea level, within the Altiplano de Sierra Nevada vino de la tierra area. It makes reds, whites and rosés.
