About the winery
Manuel Polo Aguilar founded the first winery in the Alto Turia in 1952, basing its production on the native grape of this mountain district, Merseguera. A few years later, his son Manuel Polo Monleón took over the family business and created the Hoya del Castillo brand. In 1988 the winery installed its own bottling line and, in the mid-1990s, began producing rosé and red wines. Today the Polo Martínez siblings, the third generation devoted to vines and wine, have modernised and updated the winery.
