About the winery
Bodegas Vegamar is a family winery founded in 1999 in Calles, in the Los Serranos district, within the D.O. Valencia. It lies in the Alto Turia, about 65 kilometres from the sea and over 600 metres above sea level, with vineyards surrounded by the Tuéjar and Turia rivers and no other vines nearby, which gives its wines a character that is both mountain and Mediterranean. Its signature wines include Esencia Vegamar, a Garnacha and Syrah red aged in French oak, and a traditional-method cava from Chardonnay and Garnacha with long ageing on the lees. Besides wine, it has a range of gourmet products. It offers winery visits with tastings as well as tastings in the city.
