About the winery
The Virgen del Galir winery was founded in 2002 in a valley of the river Galir, in Éntoma, a small village in Ourense, Galicia. Located right on the Camino de Santiago, it belongs to the Valdeorras D.O. This almost forgotten region has extraordinary vineyards. Virgen del Galir sources from its 20 hectares of vineyard, in almost as many plots, at more than 600 metres, with slate and decomposed granite soils on terraced land. The climate is continental with Atlantic influence, with rainfall of 700 to 1,000 mm a year depending on the area.
