About the winery
After a long family tradition of making young carbonic maceration wines by the traditional method in the small family-owned winery in the old cellar quarter of Villabuena de Álava, it was in 1994 that Tomás Martínez de Cañas decided to go to market with his own brand, Zintzo, under the Rioja D.O.Ca., now using the facilities of the newly built winery. In 2000 his son Karlos joined the winery, and a further expansion of the winery was carried out, where new wines began to be made: the crianza and the white.
