About the winery

Bodegas Carmena is a winery with a family tradition in Carmena, a hilltop village in the Torrijos area of the province of Toledo. Its roots lie in Bodegas Muñoz, the artisan business founded in 1954 by brothers Felipe and Tomás Muñoz Sánchez which, generation after generation, has adapted to changes in the way people drink wine. Today it is run by Miguel Ángel Muñoz, who manages the harvesting and bottling of their own vineyards in modern facilities. They sell directly to the public at the winery and deliver to bars, restaurants and shops in central Spain, with red, white, rosé and semi-sweet wines, as well as Pedro Ximénez and vermouth. Their aim is to make a single-estate wine from low-yielding Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from their own vines.
