Casa Althay
About the winery
Casa Althay is a winery in the very heart of La Geria, near Yaiza and Timanfaya, within the D.O. Lanzarote. Its commitment is to restore the island's wine landscape, and to that end it keeps up traditional growing in pits dug into the volcanic ash and sheltered from the wind by stone walls, alongside other local systems such as chaboco and trenches, with vines between 20 and 200 years old and organic viticulture. It combines this inherited know-how with a modern, sustainable approach. Its range includes the wines Casa Althay, Viticultores, Caldera Tinasoria, Althay Rosado, Lintán Negro, Althay Avelina and Althay Orange.
