In Roman times: Laserna, a historic settlement since the Roman Empire, lies on the banks of the River Ebro, near the gorge where the Puente Mantible stood. These historic ruins can still be seen today. Location: the village and its lands lie between the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria and the surroundings of the River Ebro, a dream location between history and age-old vineyards. Climate and soil: clay-limestone soil is the main feature of Rioja Alavesa, ideal for vineyards at an altitude of between 400 and 700 m.
