About the winery
Celler l'Antic Magatzem is a family winery in Porrera, in the DOQ Priorat. Its name comes from Cal Simó, the house known as el Magatzem, where in the late 19th century the family traded wine, olive oil and nuts, and where the winery is today. It is run by Adrià Domènech Simó, the first generation of the family to make and sell its own wine after many generations of farmers; the first harvest came into the cellar in 2022. All the grapes come from the family vineyards in Porrera, linked to the Cal Pagès house, with century-old terraced slopes and mixed crops. They make Coratge, Ànima, Llum de Cal Pagès, Ànima de Cal Pagès in Carignan and Garnacha, and a vi ranci. The visit combines a walk through the slopes with the winery and a tasting of their wines.
