About the winery
Celler Mas Foraster, known for its Josep Foraster label, is a family winery in Montblanc, in the D.O. Conca de Barberà. The estate has vines and olive trees documented since 1828, but the first wine did not come until 1998, made by Josep Foraster. After his death his sister Julieta and her husband carried on, and since 2005 it has been run by winemaker Ricard Sebastià Foraster, who opted for organic farming, old vines and minimal intervention. All the grapes come from the estate, with spontaneous fermentations and low sulphites. Trepat is at the heart of the house, with wines such as Josep Foraster Trepat, Julieta, Pep and La Robina, alongside Macabeo whites such as Brisat del Coster. The visit walks through the vineyards, goes into the winery and its small museum and ends with a tasting of four wines.
