Celler Mas Pòlit
About the winery
It is documented that in 1293 the land called La Mata, now known as Mas Pòlit, was the manorial property of the Hospitaller monk of the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, who granted an emphyteutic lease to Bernat Carrera, a vassal of the Lord Abbot of that monastery. The document attests that vines were already being grown. It was in 1572 that Antoni Heras, son of the Mas d'en Heras in Garriguella, bought the farmhouse. Since then, Mas Pòlit has belonged to the Heras family and their descendants.
