About the winery

D'Vagar is a family winery in Leiro, in the Avia valley and within the D.O. Ribeiro. It began with A Vasqueira, a vineyard in the small village of Ibedo bought in 1970 by the grandparents, América González and Antonio Soto, who shaped it into terraces on granite soils. In 2021 their grandsons, brothers Antonio and Alberto García, took over and set up the winery to bring that heritage together with a contemporary outlook. They grow native varieties such as Treixadura, Godello, Albariño, Caíño Blanco and Loureira for whites, and Sousón, Caíño Longo, Brancellao, Merenzao, Espadeiro and Ferrón for reds. Their wines are made in limited quantities: Napedra, a Treixadura aged in amphorae carved from granite taken from the vineyard itself, and the Finca Vasqueira Godello Ánfora, Castes Brancas and Castes Tintas.
