About the winery
Eccocivi, also known as Ca l'Elsa, is a young winery in Sant Martí Vell, in the Gavarres natural area of Girona, with wines under the D.O. Catalunya. It was built between 2007 and 2008 to bring vine growing back to an area where wine had been traditional but was thought to be lost. Its vineyards are surrounded by pine and cork oak woods, the harvest is done by hand and the winery holds Zero CO2 certification. Its wines include Ca l'Elsa, Can Noves white and red, the Montrodó range in white, rosé and red, and a naturally sweet wine. Wine tourism is one of its hallmarks: it offers visits to the winery and vineyards with tastings, paired tastings on the farmhouse terrace, a wine bar and sessions with the winemaker.
