About the winery
Ego Bodegas is a winery in Jumilla, Murcia, within the D.O. Jumilla, with an unusual story for the sector: it does not come from inherited tradition but from the drive of Santos Ortiz and Ioana Paunescu, who started from scratch in 2011, bringing their experience in project creation, finance, marketing and sales. After months of searching they settled in the upper part of the Hoya de Torres, surrounded by old Monastrell vines. The winery, close to Jumilla's historic centre, has 35 hectares of its own vineyards, mostly Monastrell, and ferments the grapes from each vineyard separately in steel tanks. Talento, Ego and Infinito sum up its philosophy and give their names to its wines, alongside a wide range that includes the Goru family, Fuerza, Pirapu, Don Baffo, Finca del Tuerto and Marionette.
