About the winery

Vins de Foresta is the project of Lluís Carsí and Gerard Maristany, grape growers and winemakers in L'Arboçar, in the Garraf Massif, within the D.O. Penedès. Their vines are surrounded by forest, in an area that was once among the most important for wine in Catalonia and is now regaining prominence. They farm organically and make the wines by hand, with spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention, aiming for wines that express the landscape. Their range includes Bosc del Calau, Turó de les Llebres, a Xarel·lo, a Sumoll and two ancestral-method sparklers, one from Macabeu and one rosé. The visit starts with a 4x4 ride to an open-air tasting room, where they explain the winemaking and pour four wines with a breakfast of local cheeses and cured meats.
