Huellas del Tiétar is a family project in Lanzahíta, in the Tiétar valley in southern Ávila, with the Sierra de Gredos to the north. It was set up to preserve almost century-old vineyards at risk for lack of a new generation, and in 2017 it joined the D.O.P. Cebreros. It works small dry-farmed bush-vine plots spread between the Tiétar and Alberche valleys, on sandy and granite soils, without herbicides or insecticides. Grapes are hand-picked at dawn, sorted on a table and moved by gravity into the tanks. The focus is on single-site wines, with labels such as Comisura white and red, Bendita Frescura, Relatos, Otro Cantar and Efímero. Guided visits with a tasting are offered, and the property also has a restaurant and a rural guesthouse.
