Jable de Tao is the name under which TAO Viticultores was born, a winery and vineyard project in the D.O. Lanzarote driven by a group of islanders, among them Alexis Betancor Cabrera, a native of Tao and the son and grandson of farmers who already made wine in the family cellar. Their aim is to make wines that speak of the land without leaving behind the growers, whom they see as the true guardians of the landscape. Their island wine, TAO Viticultores, brings together plots from north to south on jable, volcanic and sedimentary soils, blending Malvasía Volcánica, Listán Blanco, Diego and Listán Negro, fermented in large casks, concrete and 500-litre barrels. The range also includes Chupadero, Tenesar, La Diego, TAO Paraje and CONTRADICIÓN*.
