About the winery
Javi Revert Viticultor is the project of winemaker Javi Revert in La Font de la Figuera, a farming village in the south-west of the province of Valencia, within the D.O. Valencia, set in a valley ringed by mountains and old dry-stone terraces. His aim is to give value to that landscape and to almost forgotten Mediterranean varieties: he tends some 12 hectares, half old mountain vines and half replanted on abandoned sites, organically and with biodynamic practices. Using native yeasts, plenty of whole clusters and ageing in concrete and 500-litre barrels, he makes four wines: Sensal, a site wine, and the single-plot Micalet, Simeta, from the local Arcos grape, and Foradà. The visit takes in the vineyards, includes tasting straight from the tanks with the winemaker and ends with cured meats and local products.
