La Diferenta
About the winery
Ladiferenta is a growers' project in Navàs, in central Catalonia, straddling the Bages and Berguedà areas within the D.O. Pla de Bages. It pays tribute to the generations who tended these vineyards and works to recover native varieties such as Sumoll, Mandó, Malvasia, Macabeu and Pansera, in old vines over eighty years old and new plantings, above 600 metres. Its white comes from vines 60 to 90 years old; there is a skin-contact Malvasia de Manresa fermented in amphora; the red ferments in an old stone vat, and Entreroques is a Sumoll from one of the oldest vineyards in the village. The visit, at Can Bartomeu in Castelladral, takes in the vineyards with views of Montserrat and the medieval stone cellar, with a tasting and local produce.
