About the winery

La Verea is a family project in Tinajo, in the north of Lanzarote and within the D.O. Lanzarote, run by the Cabrera Bernal family: Joaquín Cabrera, Eli Bernal and Sergio Cabrera. It all begins in Hoya la Perra, a vineyard of Malvasía and Listán Negro vines over a hundred years old once worked by grandfather Juan Cabrera Cabrera. They farm in traditional pits in the volcanic ash and make wine with minimal intervention in a simple cellar, where the wines ferment in concrete eggs and age for about ten months. Their labels are made in very small quantities: Tabaiba, a white for ageing from Malvasía Volcánica with a little Listán Blanco; Malvarrisco, a Listán Negro rosé; and the ancestral-method Nubium and Nubium Rosé.
