About the winery
The Loxarel winery was born of the vocation and innovative spirit of Josep Mitjans who, at just 16 years old, made his first 1,000 bottles of cava, breaking with the estate's tradition of producing bulk wine to add one more step to the chain. The year was 1985. After four generations in contact with the vineyard and the land, the time had come to go one step further in the winemaking process. Mitjans studied oenology and took on the challenge of leading the transformation of the family vineyard business.
