Lure Wines
About the winery
Lure Wines is a txakoli winery in the Murueta district of Orozko (Bizkaia), overlooking the Gorbea Natural Park and within the DO Bizkaiko Txakolina. Its four hectares of vineyard lie on steep south- and south-east-facing slopes, on clay-loam soils of limestone origin, with an inland oceanic climate. In the vineyard they only intervene when needed and use sheep to keep the cover crop in check and fertilise the soil. The main variety is Hondarrabi Zuri, accompanied by Petit Corbu, Izkiriota, Izkiriota Ttipia and Riesling. They make several txakolis: Xuxurla, the vineyard's base wine; Xuxur, aged on fine lees; Ailu, with time in barrel; Kra; and Landazuri, born from a collaboration with an artist.
