Murallius
About the winery
Murallius is a small artisan winery in the D.O. Pla de Bages, born from Josep Codina's wish to revive the winemaking tradition of his family and of the area. He drew inspiration from the vineyards of his childhood and from an old walled house, which gives the project its name, and planted his vineyards in 2006. They are farmed organically and biodynamically, without chemicals, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah for the reds, aged in French oak barrels, and Macabeu and Garnatxa Blanca for the whites. The winery makes signature wines in limited quantities, taking care over every step from harvest to ageing. Visits can be arranged to walk the vineyards, learn about the artisan process and taste the wines.
