About the winery
Oxer Wines is the project of Oxer Bastegieta, who makes txakoli in Kortezubi, a small village in Bizkaia within the D.O. Bizkaiko Txakolina, as well as wines in Rioja Alavesa, where he settled in 2005. His txakoli Marko comes from vineyards on clay and limestone soils, made with Hondarribi Zuri Zerratia, Hondarribi Zuri and Izkiriota Handia, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and ten months on its lees, unfiltered and unfined. The Marko family also includes Marko Gure Arbasoak, Marko Skin and Marko Loretxoa. The vines are farmed organically, partly with a mule, and the aim is fresh, elegant wines through early harvests and gentle extraction.
