About the winery

The Finca Vegas winery is in the traditional hamlet of Las Vegas, in Granadilla de Abona, in the south of Tenerife, within the D.O. Abona. The estate, of about 7 hectares, is embraced by a 60-metre cliff and a ravine, and has belonged to the Weytjens family since 2003; their eldest son, Anthony, studied oenology in Bordeaux before taking charge of the wines. Just over 2.5 hectares are under vine, at around 700 metres, on volcanic and sandy soils, with Baboso Blanco and Castellana Negra among the varieties. They make single-vineyard wines such as Albillo Criollo Viñedo El Pinalete, Listán Blanco Viñedo Lomo de las Ánimas, Baboso Blanco Viñedo Tagorito and Castellana Negra Viñedo Los Cardones, as well as Listán Blanco and Rosado Las Fincas and The Golden Skins, from century-old vines.
