About the winery

Señorío de las Viñas is in Laserna, a hamlet of Laguardia, in Rioja Alavesa. Behind it are the Viteri family, who have grown vines in the area since the late 19th century and are now in their fourth generation. Their more than sixty hectares are planted with native varieties, mainly Tempranillo, together with Graciano, Garnacha and Mazuelo, plus some Viura and Malvasía for whites, almost all bush-trained. The oldest vines, some of them a century old, are kept for the Reservas and Grandes Reservas. The young wines are made in the traditional cosechero way, by carbonic maceration, and the rest go into barrel for crianzas, reservas and signature wines. At the winery they organise tastings for groups: among friends, introductory, straight from the barrel or comparing classic and signature wines.
