About the winery
Sheltered from the cold winds of Rioja Alavesa, on the slopes of the Sierra de Cantabria and with the exceptional backdrop of the medieval town of Laguardia, Solar Viejo winery has been making wines with the distinctive personality of the Rioja Designation of Origin for more than 75 years. The original winery was founded in one of Laguardia's emblematic manor houses, within the town walls. That is where the first Solar Viejo, the winery's most iconic wine, began to be made.
