About the winery

Casa de Outeiro is a winery in Quiroga, in the Quiroga-Bibei subzone, the easternmost part of the D.O. Ribeira Sacra and gateway to the Montañas do Courel Geopark. It is driven by Juan and Noemí as a rural venture that sets out to show that villages have a future. In 2019 they bought the Casa de Outeiro, a ruined building documented since the 14th century, promising to restore it so that their wines can age there. They work with minimal intervention, cover crops and a soil study carried out with the University of Santiago. Their wines are arranged into Subzone, Place and Vineyard: the Quiroga-Bibei red, from Mencía, Garnacha, Caíño, Brancellao and Sousón, and its Godello; Camiño da Encomenda, from Godello and Treixadura; and the A Fragua and Pena do Castro vineyards, as well as a circular vineyard.
