About the winery
Neleman is an organic winery in Casas del Rey, a hamlet of Venta del Moro in inland Valencia, within the Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park, a biosphere reserve. Derrick Neleman began making organic wine in Valencia in 2014, and in 2018 he took over a winery built in 1961 as a cooperative by the villagers, which he restored with their help. Today thousands of customers are also co-owners of the project, and the chief winemaker is Jorge Monfort. They make organic and vegan wines from Bobal, Tempranillo, Monastrell, Verdejo, Macabeo and other varieties, in ranges such as Bike, Nucli, Casas del Rey, Single Vineyard and their cavas. They offer vineyard tours and tastings all year round, and the winery has a small hotel.
