The V.P. Los Cerrillos has 1 winery you can visit, an estate located in Argamasilla de Alba, in the east of the province of Ciudad Real, in the heart of La Mancha. Its vines stretch along the upper Guadiana river valley, next to the Peñarroya reservoir and at the gateway to the Lagunas de Ruidera. Its small size makes every visit a personal experience, well worth it for getting to know the vineyard and the winery that makes its wines first-hand.
The vineyard lies at 695 metres, surrounded by hills that ventilate it and slow the growing cycle, on limestone and marl soils with a loam texture. The climate is continental Mediterranean, with more than 2,500 hours of sunshine a year and wide temperature swings, although the nearby Guadiana softens temperatures and brings more rain than in the rest of La Mancha; harvest comes 15 to 20 days later. Only reds are made, from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot, deep in colour, with ripe fruit and liquorice and balsamic notes.
