About the winery
This family's ties to the world of wine go back to the early 20th century when, after the devastation of Galicia's vineyards by the phylloxera plague, the first steps were taken to replant the vines. That is what happened in Córgomo de Valdeorras, where Avelina, born in 1909 and grandmother of the winery's current managers, awakened the family's interest in viticulture. Avelina developed extensive knowledge of vine replanting, building a renowned career in grafting onto phylloxera-resistant American rootstock.
