Bodega del Monasterio de la Oliva

◍ Navarra

About the winery

The Monastery of La Oliva was founded in 1134 in Carcastillo when Cistercian monks arrived in Navarre following the Way of St James. For almost 900 years the monastery has cultivated its vineyards with native varieties such as Garnacha and Moscatel de Grano Menudo. The whole vineyard lies around the winery, across 24 hectares on the banks of the river Aragón, on alluvial soils with distinctive, well-defined characteristics. The vineyards blend perfectly into the landscape and are well adapted to the climate of the area.
