About the winery
The Miró family has been linked to the world of wine since time immemorial, with its own vineyards since the 18th century. In 1918 it founded Cavas Miró in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, devoted to the artisan production of cava by the “méthode champenoise”, with wines from the classic Penedès varieties such as Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada. Juan Miró's interest in the best development of the area's wine sector led him in 1953 to promote the first regulatory body for cava, called INCAVI, of which he was the first President.
