About the winery

Bodegas La Pelina is a family winery in Usagre, in southern Extremadura, founded in 1881 in Matanegra, an area with a long winemaking tradition. The brand began with Bonifacio Esteban and has passed from parents to children down to the fourth generation, brothers Antonio and Bonifacio Fernández, who have modernised the winery. Its vineyards have been farmed since the days of their great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents, with hand pruning and limited harvests, and all the wine is made in the region itself. Its catalogue is organised into several lines: Viña La Pelina, Chacona, a selection of exclusive wines and bag-in-box formats.
