About the winery
La Verdea is a young winery founded in 2019 in Puenticiella, high up in Cangas del Narcea and within the D.O.P. Cangas, to revive the family's inherited vineyard. It is run by Luciano and his wife, who work small plots on very steep slopes, with very old vines, some of which survived phylloxera, and very low yields per plant. From the Asturian varieties Albarín blanco and negro, Verdejo Negro and Carrasquín they make wines such as Verdea Blanco and Verdea Tinto, an Albarín Blanco, a Carrasquín and Albarín red, and the 620 range, which includes an Albarín Negro and Verdejo Negro. The winery can be visited by appointment, and the visit covers how the wine is made and the estate's projects.
