Bodegas Lunares is the project of the Morales León family from Ronda, who bought the Finca Lunares estate in 2003 and decided to plant vines there. The winery stands just over a kilometre from the town, in a late 18th-century building once used as a wine press house, with production, ageing and tasting rooms, and it connects with the Hotel Bodega El Juncal, overlooking the Sierra de las Nieves. It has two estates, Lunares, on high-altitude slopes, and Ronda la Vieja, next to the Roman town of Acinipo, with Syrah, Graciano and Cabernet Sauvignon among its varieties. Highlights are the red Altocielo and the Lunares range in white, rosé and red. It welcomes visitors for tastings all year round with advance notice and is part of the Ronda and Málaga Wine Route.
