About the winery
Picos de Cabariezo is a winery and distillery in Cabezón de Liébana, a few kilometres from Potes, in the Liébana valley. It was born in 2000, when a group of childhood friends decided to plant their own vineyards to revive the area's winemaking tradition, and it combines vineyard work with craft distilling in a copper alembic. Its Morillas vineyards, below Peña Sagra, produce reds from Mencía and Syrah and whites from Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, in wines such as Picos Selección, Finca Morillas, El Misterio, Alba de Picos and the sweet Hielu de Picos. It also makes traditional orujos and liqueurs, As de Picos whisky and malt, brandy and gins. It offers guided visits of around an hour with a tasting of its products, and private visits for groups and companies.
