About the winery

Bodega Rambla Huarea, which sells its wines under the Poeta en Nueva York brand, occupies the old Cortijo Teja farmhouse, on the bed of the Rambla de Huarea, between Albuñol, Murtas, Turón and Adra, in the Contraviesa area of Granada. Its owners were born in that very farmhouse and in 1999 took the step of modernising the wine they had previously made only for the family, heir to the area's traditional vino costa. They work 14 small terraced plots by hand, at around 400 metres and close to the Mediterranean, among almond and fig trees, and produce fewer than 8,000 bottles per vintage. From Vijiriega, Pedro Ximénez, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha they make young and barrel-aged Tempranillo and Syrah and a Sauvignon Blanc. They offer guided visits to the winery.
