About the winery
Bodega Valwine Bierzo stands on the Camino de Santiago in Fuentesnuevas (Ponferrada), in the Bierzo district, in a farmhouse built in the early 20th century where Mr Daniel Fernández Folgueral founded his winery in 1938. His great-grandson Alex Alejandre has renovated the winery, keeping the traditional, artisan process as well as organic vineyards. Our winery is opposite the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and has 3 hectares of vineyards with the Mencía, Garnacha and Jerez varieties, almost 100 years old.
