About the winery
Heredad Morán & López is a family winery in Ponferrada, on the banks of the river Boeza and right on the French Way of the Camino de Santiago, within the D.O. Bierzo. It is run by siblings Miguel Ángel and Estefanía, who came home after working elsewhere to carry on the legacy of their parents and grandparents, with their own Mencía and Godello vines tended by hand. It got going in 2019 with Heredad 26 Mencía and has since added Heredad 26 Godello and Roble, the Buleza rosé, the Valdesalas Godello, Altos de Talana, a Godello with twelve months in barrel, and Rincón Heredad, a barrel-aged Mencía. The visit takes in the vineyards around the winery up to the highest parts, with views over El Bierzo, and explains how they make their wines.
