About the winery
Bodegas Campoameno has its D.O.Ca. Rioja winery in Alfaro, one of the company's three, alongside those in Manzanares, in La Mancha, and Frailes, in Jaén. In Alfaro they combine traditional methods with modern techniques and select grapes from the region to make wines that express the character of Rioja. Its brands cover different styles: 5 Oros, fresh, fruity everyday wines in white, vendimia seleccionada, crianza and reserva; Campo Burgo and Finca Besaya, balanced and approachable wines; Marcelino, more traditional in style; and Hacienda de Susar, the premium label. The visit follows the path of the grapes from arrival, with explanations from the cellar master, the tank hall and the barrel room, and ends with a tasting.
