About the winery
It was around 1940 that this winery began making its characteristic wine, but in 1975 Cándido Besa began selling it himself. The wine is made through «carbonic maceration» of the whole grape. After alcoholic fermentation, the grapes are trodden in the traditional way, thus obtaining the heart of the wine. The wine obtained in this way has very characteristic fruit aromas and flavours: the typical young wine of Rioja Alavesa.
