Bodegas Carpe Diem is in Mollina, in the Antequera district in the north of Málaga province, and belongs to the SCAAVO cooperative (Virgen de la Oliva). It was founded in 1993 from the historic Bodega Scholz, a house of ageing and soleras whose soleras it still keeps, and that year it released its first bottled wines. It works under the DOP Málaga for naturally sweet and fortified wines, such as the Carpe Diem line with its Pedro Ximénez Añejo and Trasañejo or its dry white, and under the DOP Sierras de Málaga for whites, rosés and reds such as Gadea and Montespejo, as well as vermouth, an orange wine and Moscatel sparkling wines. The visit, run with SCAAVO at its interpretation centre, takes in the wine hall and the olive mill and ends with a tasting of wines and olive oils paired with food.
