About the winery
Founded in 1963 by 15 residents of the town of Villafranca de los Barros, it currently has 1,100 members. It has a total area of approximately 20,000 m2, a capacity of 40 million kilos of grapes and a turnover of approximately €12,048,192.77. The Cooperativa Agrícola Vinícola Extremeña «San José», located right on the Ruta de la Plata, follows tradition in making its wines. The vineyards, located in the Tierra de Barros district on gentle reddish-brown hills, sometimes alongside olive trees, give the landscape a very personal touch.
