About the winery
Bodegas Cornelio is a family winery in La Rioja whose Cornelio Dinastía cellar, a partly underground building, stands in San Asensio. The family speaks of more than eight generations working the land and over 35 years of organic farming, with old, low-yielding vineyards on slopes with poor soils; those for the Vega Vella range are in Rioja Oriental. Their idea is that wine is made in the vine, with minimal intervention in the cellar, and they mix traditional techniques with what they have learned travelling through other wine regions. They work with Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Blanca and Graciano, and their lines include Cornelio Dinastía, Cornelio HH, Vega Vella Organic, certified organic, and La Guarida del Lobo.
