About the winery
Viña Eguía is a brand from Elciego, in Rioja Alavesa, that belongs to the Muriel Wines group. Its name comes from the Basque word egia, meaning truth, and its wines aim for a modern, open and easy-to-enjoy style. The core of the range is made up of 100% Tempranillo reds: the Crianza, the Reserva and the Gran Reserva, the latter from vineyards around forty years old on average. Alongside them come more unusual wines, such as a Mazuelo from old high-altitude vines, a Maturana Blanca from estate vineyards and a Tempranillo with Garnacha from the young plots of Finca Montalvillo. With its Varietales line it brings together grapes from Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental to show the diversity of varieties in the appellation.
