About the winery
Bodegas Faustino García Martínez is in El Villar de Arnedo, in Rioja Oriental, surrounded by its own vineyards. The story begins in the 1940s with Félix García Crespo, who made wine for the household and crafted wineskins and leather bottles. Faustino García Martínez founded the winery in the 1960s, it is now run by his children, and the fourth generation is preparing to take over. They age in American oak and work with their own grapes. Under the Viña Salvaje label they make their D.O.Ca. Rioja wines: a young carbonic maceration red, a crianza and a reserva from Tempranillo with a little Garnacha. With the Faustino García Martínez and Don Ortuño labels they make reds, whites, rosés and claretes from varieties such as Verdejo, Merlot or Garnacha, and they are known for also selling them in bag-in-box format.
