About the winery
Bodegas Jagatas is based in Valencia de Don Juan, in the D.O. León, and grew out of the family habit of making wine at home that goes back to the great-grandfather. Today it is the life project of Sara González, who in 2017 began studying viticulture and winemaking in Valladolid and acquired four plots of century-old vines in San Pedro de los Oteros and Pajares de los Oteros. She had previously worked harvests with Raúl Pérez in El Bierzo and Galicia. She works with León's two signature grapes, Prieto Picudo and Albarín: the Jagatas red, the Tremor red, the Jagatas rosé and Valdemartín, an Albarín aged in French oak.
